About Iris & Heirloom

Hello, I am Breanna Sengele, the artist behind Iris and Heirloom. I create and sell pen-and-ink and watercolor art.

This work is a true extension of who I am at my core - a creative soul with a passion for nurturing connections to the past, and a deep desire to curate spaces that truly feel like home.

My love of historical objects has been a fixture in my life for as long as I can remember. Even as a young child, I remember being drawn to ornate, carved-wood furniture, handmade textiles, and botanical art.

That appreciation for florals has grown and evolved over the years, from an early interest in vintage-style branding, to a desire to put my own unique spin on the genre.

Today, as a married mom of four kids and two dogs, I get to enjoy the thrill of living in one of the most charming, quintessential New England towns you ever did see.

Our 1913 farmhouse is the cozy setting for my daily life and work as an entirely self-taught artist. Here, I continually sense those authentic, historical connections - finding inspiration in local antique shops, in my own garden, and in the community of people who surround me.

Like heirloom plants being cultivated again, it is my goal to weave these historical reference points into artwork cultivated for the present - and hopefully, handed down to future generations. It is my greatest honor to have others find joy in my work and choose to display it in their homes!

Sincerely,
